How to Choose the Right Commercial Generator for Your Business |
|
What is the most efficient fuel for a commercial generator? |
Diesel is the most efficient of all generator fuels. Diesel fuels offer 38,700 BTUs per gallon of fuel which is enough to heat an average sized room for up to 6 to 12 hours. |
What is difference the between kW & kVA? |
The difference between kW (kilowatt) and kVA (kilovolt-ampere) is the power factor. kW is a unit of real power and kVA is a unit of apparent power (real power plus re-active power). The kilovolt-amperes (kVa) are the generator end capacity. |
What size generator do most homes need? |
With a generator rated at 5,000 to 7,500 watts, you can run most critical household appliances, and lighting circuits. |
How large of a generator will I need for a 3000 sq ft house? |
A 3,000-square-foot house that has two central air conditioners, a refrigerator, and a tub with a whirlpool might require 25kW to 30kW. One option is a 'load-management system,' which is a generator that can power everything in your home, but not all at once. |
Where should a whole home generator be placed at your home? |
In addition to local or federal ordinances, there are standard regulations homeowners need to follow. For example, most manufacturers will state that your generator should always be located outside and placed no less than five feet from doors, windows, and vent. |
